Mole removal is a common skin procedure performed to remove benign (non-cancerous) moles for cosmetic reasons. It should not be confused with skin cancer removal, which is removal of a lesion for health concerns. In L2 Clinics, we remove moles non- surgically to ensure the best cosmetc outcome, and the least amount of scarring.
What is non surgical mole removal?
Check up: a skin check up and consultation with our doctor is required, to ensure the mole thats requested to be treated is benign. We cannot treat skin cancer with this technque
Procedure: we use energy based device called plasma pen to break down the pigment in the mole, causing it to shed and fade over time. Multiple treatment sessions may be required for optimal results.
Recovery: Recovery time varies depending on the type of energy used and the size of the mole. The area treated, which is small, similar to the original size of the mole. may be red, swollen, or sensitive immediately after treatment. A small thin scab will be formed in this area, it is important that patient do not pick on the scar. and it will be shed in 7-14 days naturally.
Repeat treatment: because we only take off small layers of skin each session, we can ensure that the most optimal cosmetic recovery and least scarring will occur. Therefore multiple repeat sessions are required. They are ideally placed 4-6 weeks apart, up to 6-10 sessions may be needed/
